I have this wire hanging of my card with nowhere looking like it wants it.
Haynes book of lies is no help.
Any ideas what it does or where it should go?
Does it link to my poor idle thread?

Re: Spare wires on Carb
that is the wire to your choke heater.
it comes on untill the engine reaches 80 deg C
it helps the choke come off early

Re: Spare wires on Carb
ok, so this wire just take power when the ignition is on with no control switching?
The idle cutout valve has a lead that jumps to another part of the carb, maybe a capictor.
So i just need to connect it to ignition switched power

Re: Spare wires on Carb
it's connected to the Manifold heater.. whitch is switched by relay No. 1 in the junction box. This relay is triggered by the second temp sensor on the thermostat housing (post 86)
as you say when the ignition is on
