Westy Front Grill - Refurb Question

After noticing the front grill on Red Westie's red westy and seeing how ours could look . Was looking for suggestions on how to refurb or improve the look of the chrome strip around the upper front grill on our Westy, hopefully it can be restored any suggestion's people ?

ps Have done a search but didn't c ome up with anything...

Most people just pain the whole lot satin black......mine definately isn't perfect by a long way but I like the original look so I've left it as is.

the chrome strip will actually come off with a scotch pad
its about a micron thick!!

if your chrome is shabby your options are to paint the whole grill or to try and find a better one

Many thanks for your replys .... we have painted our grill and kept the chome as we also like the original look...so will leave as is and keep thinking
