Hi all,
after a debacle changing the oil on the van over the weekend (changed filter, didn't realise the rubber seal from original filter was left in place - new filter didn't seat properly) i've had nice new Fuchs oil sprayed all over the engine bay (rust preventative?) but worst of all on the exhaust.
The van smokes like a blue arrow after warming up now, i can see it is only coming from the manifold but it doesn't seem to be getting any less! any ideas for a detergent or something to get rid of it? the van isn't embarassing to drive at the minute its dangerous to other road users!

Gunk, or a bucket full of hot water and ordinary washing powder. Loosen it with paraffin first possibly.
Either that or give it a thrash until it stops

i'll try the washing powder one, after the half hour thrash didn't clear it!
