calling all fridge experts!

Post by cinimod »

I have a electrolux rm184 fridge in my westie which packed up on last trip.
have removed and left upside down for 24hours and have cleaned jet.
re-fitted and still symptons the same, fridge lights on gas and stays lit but no cooling.no cooling on 240 volt either, but was working previously on 240v

any ideas where to go next with this or anyone know of a good fridge repairer in surrey/hampshire area?

If it was working on 240v there was no point in turning it upside down!
After upside down for 24hrs. needs right way up for 24 hrs. also.
Have you cleaned out the gas pipe ( I used wd40 which brought out a lot of fine jet clogging particles) and the flue and baffle?

Right fridge out, turn upside down overnight then right way for same time, whilst sat on bench or whatever switch onto 240v leave for 3 to 4 hours and note what gets hot and what cold, if nothing hot or cold and you are sure you have supply then switch 240 off and light gas, if gas lights then observe above hot/cold and report back here note you can run it out of the van on gas .

have already removed and turned upside down for 24 hours, did not realise you had to leave for another 24 hours ater righting.tried last night and no cooling on any source-possibly because i did not leave long enough, right way up.
will check tonight again, unable to test out of van as have no euro connector for 240v and no unions or pipe to rig up gas.
