Cheers for all the feedback, i had toyed with the idea of an item running off the hot water to the cabin heater etc..... but may bid for the item on ebay alright.

i suppose there is a lot to be said for the simplicity of just heating up some water and putting it into a solar unit, when you think about the amount of times a year your likely to be using it.

Here's one way of doing it...

http://www.kayakwesty.com/shower.html

The webpage is a bit weird but the idea is good...

Here's another one; I know I'd seen it somewhere...

some good work but i'd be doubtful you'd get the water that hot using this method.

is 50 degrees the temperature of a shower??

i might go and combine the home made tank with the item below on amazon;
http://www.amazon.co.uk/ELECTRIC-CARAVA ... B002UNY9JI" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

would be a cheap hot water/ shower solution to be fair.

We wild camp throughout the year as a family, even thought it might be winter and -9 and up to three weeks at a time. Top tips,

1 Dont shag on holiday.
2 Get a flannel and fill the sink up with warm water and send you other half off for a walk for a while.
3 Shave your fanny or shlong, and armpits. One babywipe will sort you out. If your on a budget then go to KFC for that all over lemony feel that lasts.
4 A black waist tank that you can buy from any caravan shop will act like a solar boiler on sunny days. Get a Gorilla Tub from a builders merchants and pour the warm water in and use a cup to pour water over yourself. In Asia this is the way everyone washes and is known as a mandy.
5 Dip your helmet in a stream.
6 Dip her wizards sleeve in a stream.
7 Dont shag on holiday.
8 Get all your shower stuff cunningly disguised as a beach bag and act like a campsite waller, simply walk in and use the showers. (not so convincing in the winter months)
9 Go to the local swimming pool (I have worn multiple layers of clothes in the pool to do my washing at the same time) If you know me you will know this is true.
10 And most important of all, no matter what you do dont shag on holiday...

the mod on the fridge pipe is fine, lots of effort though

but would the main heater i.e. a coiled bit of copper pipe 2 ft long @ 80-90degrees heat up all the water in a tank to anything above 40 degrees? any mathematical wiz??
at least the motion of the vehicle would act to stir the tank water.
we could resort to heavy duty shagging with engine ticking over in the morning to stir the tank as well though.

No shagging would be impossible, we usually stop off at well known dogging spots!!! hahaha

I'd go with this option.
