Hi all you good helpful folk!
Ermie's cooling fan behind the rad doesn't appear to want to switch off......it came on in the heat today, parked up, and some 40 mins later its still running. Pulled the fuse to stop it.
Going out later, so will put fuse in and see what happens.
New thermoswitch? it certainly isn't like ritchies where it cuts in and out....or is there sommat else that may be doing this?

Re: Cooling fan no turn off...
Sounds like it will be the fan relay. Mine done this on the syncro recently and solved by changing relay above fuse box. I`ll have to check the number if you need it.

Re: Cooling fan no turn off...
Syncro's have a bigger fan than 2wd's so high power uses relay, IIRC the 2wd's generally just run through the thermo switch..
I do need to check that mind...

Re: Cooling fan no turn off...
Thanks both.
How do I find out whether I have a fan relay or not? Oh, put fuse back in....and fan didn't come on till it got hot driving again. Then drove it home without the fuse in watching guage like a hawk. Parked up when engine reached good operating temp, and put fuse in.....fan stayed quiet.
Dunno if this helps anyone.
Relay, thermoswitch or both?
