How much amperage does an eber use?

Post by The_blue »

I'm after some heating for the new van. It's a toss up between the propex and the eber. my folks had a propex and it was battery hungry :( so want to skip that.

Are there any systems that don't use tonnes of ampage?

I used to have a sb1800 in the old van and that was electric free :) this new one dosn't have the space :(

What model?
What about a Webasto?

20.8 amps/hr - Start
2.5 amps/hr - Boost
1.8 amps/hr - High
0.8 amps/hr - Medium
0.8 amps/hr - Low

Webasto Airtop 2000 :
Roughly the same start up.
22w running

Thanks!

22w is about 1.8 amps.

so from a 110 amp battert i'd get about 2 days running at normal? Sound right?

ebbers use much less voltage if they are on constantly at full heat than ticking over switching in and out.
the fan uses bugger all, its the glow plug for initial start up that uses it......

I bought an electric quart heater from justkampers. It cost £12 and works off electric hookup. I have used it in late autumn and it was superb. Part no J12473. Check it out. :ok Patrick

unless you have a very long hookup cable :) if you decide on a propex.think about buying an underslung gas tank.and running it on lpg.otherwise you will spend a fortune running it on propane/butane.

Thanks guys.

I'm looking for options for site with no electrics otherwise i'd use the oil radiator. :)

I'm on refillable cylinders so same price as LPG.

Any other low battery usage ideas i'm missing?
