Re: here we go again
I'm no expert on air-cooled engines but the fast or weird running could be caused by an air leak in the intake system somewhere. On motorbike carb'd engines this is often a cause and easy to spot and fix too. Good luck.

What is the fuel filter like? Could do with changing maybe? Like others have said could be an air leak or two that is the problem, check all your vacuum hoses and make sure they are not cracked or badly fitted. One of the best ways to check for air leaks is to spray WD40 on the hoses and round the carb bases, revs will pick up if there are any...Don't forget to look at the balance pipes/hose as well

Oh and forgot to mention that I would clean the carbs out too, including removing the CO screws and blowing them out...

Sounds like they could do with setting up on a gas analyzer, but for starters screw both C/O screws all the way in then 4 and a half turns out should be about rightish...then get it set up correctlythebeach2008 wrote:nice one thanks i will give it a go. are there basic set up setting , as i think the previous owner had fiddled with the carbs when it kept cutting out, what screws will i need to set, to give both carbs a basic set up thanks
