Hey folks.

I've run the van all over southern france and down into italy in hot weather and not had any problems with overheating/fueling. However my fuel pump died and I replaced it with a pattern part from GSF. This isn't exactly the same (The inlet is bigger and cranked over so the inlet pipe is hard onto the oil breather.) Ever since I've had this new part I've had problems, especially after long runs, going uphill.
Now the weather is hot it's having real problems after I run it, stop and then start off again. Basically it starts, runs a short way then cuts out and won't start again till it cools down. I'm very sure what's happening is when it's sitting turned off and hot, the fuel in the pump is vaporising. And the problem climbing hills is, hot air can't exit the engine bay very well, the fuel in the pump which sticks up in all that warmth is partially vaporising and the extra fuel load isn't being met.
Its frustrating knowing that the original part (Till it broke) didn't cause me these problems at all.
I wondered if anyone else had similar experiences.
Mike
