I think I've cracked it......

It wasn't just an oil leak it was a diesel leak as well. Having removed the bottom engine cover panels I cleaned the whole engine with brake cleaner using a dish scrubby. I gave the whole engine and engine bay a really good clean. I fired up the engine and took it for a ride to build up some pressure in the system so I could find the leaks. I popped open the engine cover and diagnosed the following:

1) Rocker cover is leaking oil out of the lower rear corner.
2) Diesel seems to be leaking from near the throttle linkage area.

I probably could have dealt with the rocker cover myself just fine, but I could not find the source of the diesel leak so I took it to a new garage just down the road that specialises in diesel engines. Sure enough there are 2 other T25s sitting in the forecourt. That was a rasuring site.

Anyway this new garage diagnosed the source of the diesel leak, but needed to rev the engine before the could spot it. It only leaked with the engine was at high revs. And then it was a pretty decent leak. Diesel was running down from the throttle housing into the injectors and then down the engine block onto the bottom of the turbo.

So to sum up. I had oil leaking from my oil filler neck. Oil coming out of the rocker cover from an incorrectly fitted gasket and diesel coming from the throttle housing. This is on top of a water leak that was coming from the temp sender on the header tank that I fixed a while back. Its no wonder that I was making a big mess of the road wherever I parked up.

I was so excited to see the road under my van free of any drops when I hopped in to go to work today.

Lets just hope that I don't need to add any further to this thread. Thanks again for your help guys.

Cheers

Good to see you've cracked it!
Just one thought - I always fit rocker cover gaskets with a very thin smear of high melting point grease on each face of the gasket just to ensure a complete seal
