Quick and easy awning/sunshade

Post by Oldjets »

Some may be using this arrangement already, but its a quick and easy solution for a lightweight sunshade or outdoor cooking area. Various companies do a basic tarp. Mine is 3m x 3m from a company called Tenth Wonder Hammocks on Ebay. Costs £31 posted. Comes with tie down cords and a couple of soft ground pegs. I combined it with two 1.5m tent poles that I already had and a few tent pegs for pegging down the bottom edge. Ties at top front to luggage lashing ring and at the back to the door hinge.
Takes 60 seconds to put up and is just the right size for the van. Wont stand up to strong winds or heavy rain but otherwise makes a neat little porch as shown or a bigger sunshade when opened right out.

Happy camping,

This looks good!! We got an awning with the van which looks in good nick but there are so many bits and bobs (poles, ties, clips, pegs, grabs etc) that I reckon we might get in a muddle with it - might try your idea instead!! :D
