Which reversing sensor kit?

Post by Red64 »

Looking for a reversing sensor kit for my 1989 T25 AutoSleeper. Needs to be towbar aware.

Any suggestions?

Stick a camera on the back from Aldi ?

Not sure any sensors will do the job you need, and to be honest they don't stop you hitting annoying concrete bollards that are between them (trust me on that one  ) Just get used to using your mirrors properly

No good lighting up what cannot be seen!
I would advise a camera also - I have used a Velleman parking sensor kit for years but now find that when I am towing a dinghy it is too low to be seen. The sensor does miss those bollards in supermarket car bays. (I stop when the tow bar hits them :D )

It's got nothing to do with camping but I've just picked up a WAECO Magicwatch MW150 for 12,95 yoyos - bargain!

Hi, I fitted a Hawk system with 4 sensors.......easily fitted and it does see thin posts and bollards.

System bought from ebay, later bought Hawk alarm system..........not as easy to install.

For what they cost these days you would be better off with a reversing camera and LCD monitor. Maplin were offering a wireless set up for around £50-00 complete with LCD screen.

Blimey, you can tell I'm a newbie. If only I'd known that this was the place to be for abuse I'd have signed up years ago :D

Only need the kit as I get discount from the insurer and I want the wife to drive
