HI
I have ordered a gear change repair kit from Brickwerks as I am having trouble getting first gear.
I have discovered that if I press down on gear stick slightly as you would for reverse I can slip it into gear ok.
Someone on the forum told me to try that.
Does this point to wear in any particular area of the linkage??? Or could it be down to the adjustment.
Cheers Jay

Re: Tricky First
The new ball/spring kit should cure it. I think that the lever wears the underside of the ball and migrates upward (held up by the spring) which means that when you go for 1st, it fouls the reverse stop.
Mine does it too. Should do that job really
