This is probably the first of a long list of questions, just got around to swapping my 1.6 for the 1.9Y and ask you guys the following:
Do i throw the oil baffle plate in the sump away ?
Whats best way to configure pulley wheels water pump alternator etc, V pulleys or keep the ones on the 1y ( from a seat Ibiza )
Cheers

Re: 1Y conversion
Discard the sump baffle gasket its called a windage tray & use a sump gasket.I use the JX /CS waterpump pulleys and alternater as this protects the crankshaft key way due to the way flexible belts work .As against 1Y ribbed belts & pulleys alternator pump arrangement unless its got a free wheeling pulley then use it.

Re: 1Y conversion
Thanks for that, is it just a case of changing the water pump pulley or the whole water pump ? I've got the necessary alternator and bracket etc. Is the water pump pulley easy to get hold of ?

Re: 1Y conversion
From memory its a matter of changing over the water pump as i think the bolt hole spacing are diffrent on the 1Y pump to accept the 1.6 td pulley. When i converted mine to a 1.9d i used the 1.6 td water pump pulley & alternator and crankshaft damper pulley.
