OK...so the camp dates of Fri 16th to Sun 18th July have been up for a week or so on another thread......There has already been a good response with a 12 van entourage signed up after such a short time with over a month to add more.....this looks good to go.
Ross has confirmed the dates are fine so perhaps when we know approximate finalised numbers....a few days before that weekend? we should just verify with Ross everything is OK and ready for the camp.

Afternoon all, if there are any Moderators online does anyone know if the link below is OK?

viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70003&p=7499113#p7499113

I clicked on it and was told "You are not authorised to read this forum."

I was of course logged in. If the link is OK is there anything else I should have done?

Thanks

Thanks for that Steve.
I got a veiled b@ll@cking for trying to plan a meet which clashed with another one in the area. (Genuine mistake). Not going to get in an online argument about it. The offer at Rainton, originally, was FREE parking and a live band if wanted. (Would've cost me £100 out of my own pocket). Choice of pitch etc. What more can you do to offer folk something cheap and decent? As was said though, some didn't fancy it. Each to their own. I could fancy the Mansfield one but I'm commited to Rainton! I'll see however many go at Rainton next month

Sorry but I think the fact Rozzo has stuck up a date that Ross is happy with is great, your never gonna get a completely free weekend, there will all ways be a show or meet somewhere so to say its rude is a bit strong! Totally agree this club aint about putting shows on but going to um or camping with mates!

To clash with another 80-90 meet which is only 80 miles north of Shirebrook is not very nice. It would be different if one meet was in North Yorkshire & the other was in (say) Kent or Devon, somewhere hundreds of miles away.

this wasn't done to deliberately affect your do but it's fairly obvious that folks are looking for camps pretty locally in these tough times. i figured yours had been up long enough to generate its own interest by now and i don't think this one has adversely affected it,, it's just another one.
as an example my mrs can only do very local camps most of the time as she has to travel to work sat/sun mornings from the camp. i used to slot in a small do at the black lion but lost that venue when new owners took over so wanted to sound this one out as the new rozzo venue. so far we have a dozen or so, mostly very local to the area so we'll see how it goes.
good luck with yours,, the northerners haven't declared yet so i'm sure it will be a success

Rozzo, I never for a moment thought you'd clashed on purpose. Obviously better for Rainton if you hadn't but hey, its as you said. You didn't fancy it! I just don't understand why people were not that interested in Rainton when the original plan was a fundraiser offering free camping and a free live band. Also I offered to alter things to suit the majority. Anyway, no doubt those who come will have as good a time as last year. Especially if I have the steak again.
Just seems a shame I put so much into getting it organised for a bigger and better meet this year then had to scale it down. I remember someone saying we should all try to give a little back to the club. Well, I've tried. We live and learn.
BTW, if the dates didn't clash I'd probs have come to yours 'cos my Uncle lives nearby
Hope it goes well.

hello everybody hope your all well, just a bit of an update regarding the possible Shirebrook rally.....a 5 minute walk from the venue takes you to a country park with walks and wildlife if your lucky you may even get to catch a glimpse of the deer roaming about.....anyway,i got talking to the baliff who monitors the fishing ponds down there and i told him what i was trying to do,and he said if anyone comes and fancies a spot of fishing they`re more than welcome its only a couple of quid...just a thought folks. Thanks for reading Ross
