Water leak problem....

Post by kathyshack »

Just back from a great trip away in the van, but literally as we got to my mums I noticed steam coming from under the van. Took engine lid of to find a burst pipe. Pretty sure it's just a water pipe but just wanted to check.

anyone know where I can get a replacement / what to ask for? Also is it something I can fix, ie pull old pipe off and put new one on, or will water pour out everywhere etc?

Thanks in advance x

Looks like an 8 mm pipe any half decent motor factors will have pipe that size (tho you need to check the size etc) couple of jubilee clips and change it you might loose a bit of coolant but not much !

got this sorted now, thanks for advice. unfortunatley we managed to snap a bit of the thermostat housing off when trying to get the bloody clip off. (plastic bit which went inside the pipe). managed to get it plastic welded though, so fingers crossed we'll be fine for beatherder this weekend, and camperjam weekend after all being well :-)
