Throttle Cable for 1982 Aircooled auto RHD

Post by davemarshall »

Anybody help need a new cable even VW cant find a source. Ordered one new but it turns out its for the watercooled one.The old cable is so knackered it would be hard to make a pattern from it.

Thanks for all your help as suggested I have tried Brickwerks and they have ordered me one from Germany.

Regards

Does the fact that it's auto make a difference to the accelerator cable?

GSF do one but it doesn't specify auto/manual Part no 71244 £5.00

Diesel is an engine not a fuel.

Think this is the correct part number.. 252 723 555 F, but not available from VW, altough you could go see local VW dealer to see if there is one at any other dealer in the country (you never know your luck....) or poss try classic parts in germany...
Brickwerks may still be able to help though... worth a mail.... give chassis number when asking too... as I cant be sure that part number is 100% correct...
