Hi
Firstly thanks to everyone who replied to my fuel tank posting, really appreciate it.
Have another question. The van pulls to the left - don't think it's the road camber - and there sounds like a "pulsing rumble" or "low whine" when turning right - a 'Haynes tip' (sound goes away when steering wheel is normal). Could this be the wheel bearing? The garage have had a look and said it isn't and they've also looked at the tracking but nothing there. There is a slight rock to the left wheel on the vertical.
Anyone come across this before or got any ideas?
Many many thanks in advance.
bearing problem or something else?

Slight rock indicates some wear but that could be in the suspension ball joints and bushes depends on how hard you rocked it
Rumble noise and its normally bearing related had one explode once and weld what was left of bearing to stub axle if in doubt get a mechanic who knows our T25's to give it a look over what part of the world are you from someone will be able to suggest a local guy

Re: bearing problem or something else?
As part of the latest round of the "chase the T3 noises" game, I did one front wheel bearing at a time (you can only do so much in a long lunchbreak) Changed the offside, no change to noises. Opened up the nearside and the whilst the small outer bearing looked ok, the inner was very distressed with the grease turned rust-red due to fretting and water damage to the outer track
Binned both, new bearings fitted and now much better
Not perfect, there's still the rumble from the back...
PS they only get HOT if they are on the point of seize-up. It won't tell you if the bearing tracks are breaking up.

Re: bearing problem or something else?
Thanks guys. I live in north London and on returning to my van last night, someone had put a business card under the wiped for The Beetle Emporium in Holloway. Apparently they do camper servicing. Anyone ever heard of them or know if they are any good?
