westy table/leg doodah?

Post by ambivert »

I think I have one of those westy table and leg things in my van. Its like a big L shaped bar that swings out from behind the drivers seat (the bottom of the bar is bolted to the van next to the battery) and a small table top which has a sort of socket which fits the top of the bar. Can't say I really use it that much, tried it a few times, just gets in the way and I have to keep finding somewhere to keep the table top after I take it off. So I'll probably sell it, any idea what they are worth?

I bought the alternative aftermarket type for around £55-00 (new). I would think a genuine Westy will fetch somewhere in that figure - I have seen them listed new at Westfalia Spares Suppliers and they weren't cheap!

I think Essex Nige was after one recently - pm him. He asked me about remaking them. Original spare Westy ones are rare as...

Keep it...

We use ours all the time; with 2 kids in the van as well as us it's invaluable as extra table space, and doubles up as a worktop when cooking. We just slot the table top behind the seat, using the leg to clamp it down tight.

Original tables are like rocking horse poo, and with a price to match  If you sell it I'll bet you"ll be looking to buy one in a year or so, and have to pay much more than your selling price.....

T25 Westies are going the same way as bay and split westies.....very sought after and owners want all the original equipment!

I didn't have a spare one :( just the machinery and contacts to get them accurately remade to pattern...
