Need to explain to anyone that might have seen a post in this thread..........

I have appologised directly to Xpress and I hope he understands...

A "friend" (who had been down the pub and was rather trollied) was round and was reading over my shoulder and I gave him the outline as to the troubles and the labour offer of a day working on the van to get it MOT'd..

After I posted I went to put the kettle on............. I stupidly left him in front of the computer where he set about his rampage IN MY NAME......... bloody moron.........   I realised what he was dong as I walked back in the room......... so edited it

I have since sent him packing with a big flea in his ear......

SO SO SO SO SO pissed off with him and myself for thinking I could trust him...

Sorry.. Hope everyone understands... and we are good:ok

np these things happen, part of life.

i had a productive couple of days, wired in a couple of amps and bass box into a car, gave the hose to someone else nearby to do, he had the right tools and pipe on standby, would have cost far more to get the bits together myself and in short notice, but i will invest in a set of six face brake pipe spanners and a good small heat torch. my one is too big and things have got better since then.

changed the oil filter. this and a good higher revving drive cleaned her out a bit. the old filter was manky and was looking like it had eaten itself. the van passed the test and then i was told that exceeded the ten working days for free retest. despite being told i had the weekend because they're not a working day. the computer said no and wouldn't allow it. i tried to get it in for retest thursday and friday. going to talk to vosa on monday because the computer will have recorded a pass so will talk to them about it. i was going to get around to sanding down a couple of rust bubbles on another car and red oxiding them, building and priming them and then sanding flat and spraying.

went to different garage. job done. moral of this story: choose a good garage, and change your oil filter, oil, diz cap, rotor arm and leads before you go to mot.

thanks for your replies. i will get on with your suggestions and she should hopefully run better than ever.
