Oil Pressure Gauge Installation

Post by Llamapup »

Hello All

I have read the recent thread "Oil Pressure Sender Location" which has been useful, but I have some futher questions relating to this topic that might be worth discussion in a separate thread:

1) Does anyone have a reccomendation for an Oil Pressure Gauge kit? Where can I order one from the internet that will work with a 1.6TD or are they all pretty much the same? Here is one from Just Kampers: http://www.justkampers.com/shop/beetles ... 11687.html . Its £90 though. Do I really need the £56 Oil pressure sender?

2) Where is best to fit them in the dash area and what sort of mounting device works well? Does anyone have a photo of where their aftermarket guage is located? Is this the sort of bracket I should use? http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Motorspor ... /1772/1862

Thanks

I hot mine off eBay £25 all in sender and gauge, the hardest part is routing the cable.

I cut a hole in the centre console to mount mine as do a lot of people.

There is a thread on here with a link to the samba showing ways and where to mount your gauges.
You can say alot of of things with "ar"

£25 is much cheaper than the £90 for the kit on Justkampers. Can anyone tell me why the oil pressure sender that is part of the Justkampers kit is so expensive? Is there something special about a oil pressure sender for a T25? Can I just get any guage and any sender?

You mention cutting holes in your console as well. Can you post a pic of this? I'm happy to drill a whle in my console, but it would be intereting to see where you successfuly mounted yours avoiding any hidden bits and pieces.

Where is this Samba link? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Thanks

Thanks for the pics. They are really useful.

There are some great pics of gauge installations that should help.

Thanks
