How do Multivan seat/rock&roll beds work ?

I'm looking at replacing the rock&roll bed that I have in my van for a Multivan rear seat/rock&roll bed.
I've been told that the above mentioned seats fold down to make a bed but do they fold down flat but slightly higher than the rear shelf so that you still need a cushion/foam to make up the last bit above the engine bay ?

yes you need a cushion for a good nights sleep.
