Engine No.

Post by rustyinn »

Desparately trying to locate engine number so i can register my Karmann Gypsy in the UK.

It's been concerted to a VW 1.9 Diesel engine, the only code I can find is AUK 068 972 095 BDE but 'AUK' doesn't seem to tie in with any VW engine codes. (this is on a strap running behind the injection pump), otherwise theres a 15K93 plate screwed onto the block but that's about it.

:-(

HELP!!

Dave

I don't think you need the engine number, just the VIN. My V5 hasn't got one on anyway...

Yep, shows Vehicle Type, Cylinder Capacity, Fuel Type etc, etc, but next to Engine Number it says "NOT KNOWN"

I'm fairly sure it's a voluntary bit of info especially with an import, so I'd just leave it off.

Appears you are right, DVLA local office checked through form and didn't ask for engine no.

Just have to wait till next week for my new Reg and tax disc to come through then i can get off camping....
