What do you think it's worth?

Post by welsh dragon 81 »

Yes it's another one of them questions, i've had the van for about five years now but with the little one here it might be time for a change. Yes i could cut windows in the van and fit a poptop but it's too good to cut. It's had a gearbox from cj, a 60k engine put in last year and just been rebuilt after a headbolt snapped. It's nearly finished just the multivan rock n roll bed to fit and a couple of little minor jobs to finish. It's been welded on one arch three years ago but it was only the size of a five pence piece. The interior has been redone and a child's hammock is there, i also have the hook up and fridge vent painted as i was going to convert to a camper. It was at vanfest show n shine 2007. Here are some images:

I'd really appreciate your expert opinion on how much I should expect when I put it up for sale! :ok

It's worth a lot of money ...to the right buyer. But finding that elusive person will be difficult.
The van is far too nice for off-roading, too basic/awkward as a camper and too individual for most tastes. (I like it btw)

You interior makes me smile, the wife would love it :D

Think i saw you at vanfest last year, loved the colour and seem to remember your tyres looked fairly large and impressively filled the wheel well. good job.

Althought got to agree above, its a niche vehicle, a shiny syncro pannel van, it good to offroad and to limited to camp in, it would all be about finding that special person.
Far better to cut it, gas it and keep it!

Nice van, But panel does limit it......but I'll take a punt.....£4.5 to £5K if running gears all good.
If you like/love it, gas it.

Here a touchy feely question.
How gutted would you feel if you sold it because you felt it was too good to cut windows in... and then saw it a few month later with a full camping interior, windows and pop top?

I would say less at £3.5k -£4k

Its still a van, not a full camper (hi/pop top with windows)

so get her to buy a T5 and drive that and leave you to enjoy the T3 :ok whatever you get for the T3 won't get much T5 and the T5 will depreciate in 2 years what the T3 is worth and will still be worth in two years time, especially an uncut panel van, better than cash in the bank

Agree, I'd hate to see windows cut in, but vans ain't much good if there is more than 2 of you. Great for load carrying but cr@p for kid carrying, same as the single-cab........hence small market/appeal.
Have you thought about fitting a windowed slider? It may help alittle.
