Odd starter motor / electrical problem??

Post by ropeman23 »

My van starts fine from cold, but when it's warm / hot and I try to start it, it's as if the battery has gone flat and if I keep trying to turn it over I get a slight electrical smell?? If I leave the engine to cool it'll start first time with plenty of kick!??

I've checked all the wiring on the starter motor and all is ok. Any ideas?

Try replacing the starter motor bush in the gearbox.
