Are people still happy

Post by Biggydog »

Good evening, I have just been trawling the archives regarding stainless exhaust systems and as the time has come to replace the one made out of swiss cheese on my van. I am interested if peolpe are still happy with their purchases.
JP seemed to come up the most and at the time people were very positive but the dates were between 2006 and 2008 are they still going strong? ooh and has anyone any comments on turbothomas and phoenix mainly as they had a very mixed bag of comments and the websites are not very descriptive and have no prices shown.
thanks in advance for your time.
Mart.

having had a JP and had to have it sorted several times I'd go with the brickwerks one as it's modular and can be replaced bit by bit the original VW system as required

Speedshop one here and it's great, really not loud in the van (caravelle with bed cushion and a bit of flashing tape on the inside of the panels) even at 75 on the motorway I can hear the kids in the back :( , nice throaty sound when opened up as well but not chav loud. Only been on just under a year and looks like new still. Designed to fit the early vans with no mods as well.

Running speedshop one 2 years now. Still find it quite loud... Boy racer loud!! Suggest you ride in one and stand on street/steep hill as it goes by to know what they sound like. If doing it over would go with Brickwerks system as it mounts with all the factory support system... and it's quiet. More money, but as stated above can be pieced on as pieces are needed.

I have the Phoenix system as per Brickwerks and happy with the fit and finish. Standard sound and pipe sizes so although I did it all in one, it can be done in phases. :ok

Thanks for the comments, Brickwerks one is certainly a cracker but £637  anyone want to buy a kidney?
Both JP and VW Speedshop also come with lifetime guarantee's and at a greatly reduced cost (especially with the VW Speedshop one at £431) and at the end of the day if it is guranteed for the life of you having the vehicle ......and i'm being buried in mine  , is there any additional benefit to buying the dearer ones?

The big advantage of the Brickwerks one is that it replaces the oe exhaust and you can buy it bit by bit so you don't have to drop £600 in one go just replace bits as they fail or you have the money, also as it's a direct replacement it sounds no louder than stock, all the others are louder.
The only reason I went for the speedshop one in the end is I've got an early van so not only would I have had to replace the whole thing at once I would have also had to find a late engine bearer bar with the silencer mounts.
