Shropshire...

Post by dirtygertie »

Does anyone know of either a sleepy spot or a very basic, quiet campsite in the Shropshire area. Preferably with immediate access to nice walks - I've googled a few sites but they all seem 'cut grass and rows of caravans' which isn't quite us.

:ok

Church Stretton site is nice and comes complete with swallows nests in the toilets too at this time of year. There is a nice walk out the far end of the site up onto the moors

Moors may not be the technical name. They probably refer to it as the Long Mynd

I was at Small Batch last weekend, in a tent unfortunately as the camper van is a way off being finished. Very nice site, was rammed with kids when we got there on Friday so it was a bit noisy but fine on Saturday and Sunday. Lots of walks from there, the pub's good and there's a good curry house in Church Stretton which is couple of miles away. In fact there's 2 curry houses but I wasn't allowed to try both!

We stayed at a little site just outside Much Wenlock in 2008. It was walking distance to the village and nice and quiet. Average price if I remember right. Can't see any tarif info on their website. Beautiful part of the world. http://sytchecaravanandcamping.co.uk/
