ON GOING TROUBLE WITH HER...

Post by skankyunderpants »

right, here goes, for a while now the bus has had a urge to just cut out as and when she pleases, no warning, just cut out, and then i cant get a spark, ive had new coils(well second hand but three of them),a new ignition module, dizzy cap, leads and alternator and after every new part, she has run fine for a short while and then, the problem just happens again, so it takes me back to square 1. i have 12v to my coil, but somtimes cant get a earth reading off the negative points, there is power from my dizzy, but she still just wont spark, any ideas how this can be sorted would be appriciated, even though me the wife an the kids love our trips out in her, my oldest (9) has just been telling his buddy how he wished we could atleast make it to half of the destinations that we set out for, personaly i think he's blowing out of preportion, but hey she'll be ok for the next outing, (i hope), thanks guys.. :ok

I had a mystery cut-out issue after a new exhaust system was fitted. I did some diagnostics on all the various electrical bits and found nothing amiss. In the end I went through every single connector, scrubbed and degreased each one and replaced them and have not had a problem since. I suspect that at 20 years old many of the wires are corroding inside and it's only a matter of time before this fix won't work. Good luck...
