Hello, my first post! Ive got a 1990 syncro multivan 2.1(digifant) and recently ran into some problems after going through some 'deeper then it looks' water. Water soaked the air filters, the power steering belt snapped, then the altinator belt went. fixed them but now seem to run rich, lots of black smoke, stalls sometimes when i come too a stop, acceleration hesitation lack of power etc. Its starts fine and idles ok..
ive cleaned all the mess and checked all dizzy leads, plugs, throttle body, air flow meter, lambda sensor, water temp sensor, earths as many connections as i can find but still the problem persists! Basically ive gone through the haynes manual and cant find anything that helps!
Ive had a very similar problem before but fixed it when combining both a new air flow meter and lambda sensors but that hasn't worked this time,
Does anybody have any other suggestions?
Cheers!

Re: Running problems
just a chance but it might be worth cheaking thw main earth strap and all the little earth crimps next to it, when i got mine the main earth strap only had a couple of strands holding it together, the ecu gets alot of its readings from this point, it is located on the left rear of the engine and should bolt to the body,
hope you sort it. neil
