speedo/clock console

Post by jeanette10 »

hi would anyone know if the speedo/clock console would be the same on every petrol van, i have a t25 1900 2.1 injk, mine is damaged so i need to replace it but i am unsure if any one would do ,
would anyone know if it needs to be for the exact van or could i change it with a different year van ?
would the age of the van make any diffrence to the ribbon layout

there were changes between late and early vans. some of the switches changed as well. Some also accept push in and rather than screw in speedo cables. My early 2.0 has different bits to some later consoles. I'd certainly try to get one for the same engine type as your van.

aim for an 87 on assembly

you can chose no clock , analogue clock or digital clock , digi clock has a revcounter. they will all work the same, also you can fit a diesel one , but the revcounter and glow plug lamp will not work correctly

which one do you have at the mo and which part is faulty? you can swap all the individual bits over!

mine is a 2.1 injection we have just got one everything seems to be the same except the part that goes into the speedo the blue ribbon it has a connection that is not same as ours, so i think we will take it to a electrian friend of ours see if he can solder my old ribbon on to the new one from the part that is diffrent :?

early ones did not go over to the speedo side, mid age ones went over but didnt connect , late ones went over and connected to the oil buzzer circuit in the speedo.

dont try to solder it up , it will create problems.
as long as the oil lamp works ok then dont worry about it ,
