Foot switch for water pump

Post by eegdivad »

My Whale foot switch is not working the submersible water pump in my onboard water tank. Does anyone know how the switch should be wired? As far as I can see it just has a red wire and a grey wire leading away from the two terminals which when bridged operate the water pump. Should it have any more wires, i.e. incoming wires? Does anyone have a wiring diagram? By the way, the pump itself does work if powered directly by alternative means.

Thanks everyone.

Its only a circuit so you need to stick a meter on the switch on its own and see if it does in fact make a circuit. You can at least rule out that if it checks out ok. If no meter, a small battery and a bulb would suffice to check its working.
