Re: gearstick/linkage identification please
the box top right is 5 speed
the rear linkage with the cup on is petrol (doesn't matter wether 4 or 5 speed)
the front linkage looks like 4 speed as does the gearstick to me but I'd have to compare against a known one which I don't have here

Re: gearstick/linkage identification please
I noticed these on the flee hole and was gonna comment , as aiden says rear cup looks the short one, box is 5sp and stick 4sp , front linkage is 4sp, , I would out of interest put something like this together as I dont need all the dedents for the different gates etc, so I would think that setup would be made to work.

Re: gearstick/linkage identification please
I'd take out the blocks from the bottom box, send them to silverbullet for patterns and get a top hat for the gearbox from a suitable source (say a gearbox rebuilder) and fit that to the gearbox (easy to do no special tools or expertise required) and go with that, you wouldn't have a fully positive gate for the 2nd3rd plane but it would probably be as good as most 5 speeds I've driven and less complex and you would still have the necessary lockout for reverse, just an idea

Re: gearstick/linkage identification please
Well I dont see why not, the bit at the back will be ok and providing the rear shift rod will mate up with the front one then yes join these, the selector box and stick will certainly fit together on your floor and the front shift rod will for sure fit the 4sp stick you have ,so correctly adjusted I would say yes.
Without doing it myself I would not be sure if the ally guides on the base of the selector box would be doing much but again I dont find them needed unless you have a very sloppy mechanism,
I have just set mine up so would be loath to pull it appart to try but will look at it next time im involved with it.
