auxiliary water pump

Hi all should this pump come on every time you turn the engine off or just when its got to a certain temp cheers mac.

It will run on over a certian temp.
It also spins over as you use the starter motor, to stop it siezing.
Put your hand on the pump and get someone else to start the van. You will feel it run at the same time the starter is turning over.
