12v Cooling Fan - (That doesn't just make a loud noise)?

Post by Yozza »

Ay up,
Can anyone recommend a good quality cooling fan to stop the missus overheating (no wise cracks please). I bought one from Halfass last year and it it didn't cool unless your face was right up against it and it made more noise than the 2.1 lump in the rear - it ended up under the hammer :D

A large diameter (120mm) Pabst Fan makes very little noise and shifts a lot o' Luft.

Thanks fellas,
Computer fans sound like a good idea, ideally I was after a recommendation on a ready made plug and play fan. But I'm no stranger to improvisation, especially if it saves a few green queens.

This gives me an idea to mount a fan in the front of my fidge!

Little switch on dash and away we go. Could obvisly put some pre-frozen bottles or ice in there to help it along. :D

There is a thought, how much does it cost to run a fridge when the engine is running? 10-15% reduction in fuel economy?

Think it's very little loss in fuel economy... Less loss then running with headlight on vs running with them off.
