Stayed at Staufen im Breisgau last year (and are doing so again this year!). Great site in the southern Black Forest. Seemed to be loads of bikes about too and you got free entry to the swimming pool and free train travel (to either Freibourg or Basle) thrown in as well. Can't wait to go back!

Just remember to buy your Vignette and have your Hi-Viz vests clearly visible.

Munich (München) is well worth a visit.
Tegernsee (south of Munich) is very nice.
Neuschwanstein Castle (copied by Disney) is worth a visit but do an organised trip from Munich to dodge the queues which can be 4 hours long.
