Feul pump pushrod?

Post by orangebooboobearcrew »

Hi,

Does anyone know what the correct length should be for the fuel pump pushrod on a 2.0l petrol Aircooled CU?

We aren't getting any fuel to the carbs but there is plenty in the tank and fuel filter. I've removed the pump and connected it to a container of paraffin and it is sucking and pumping fine.

Got the missus to turn engine over on starter whilst I held the pushrod but it doesn't seem to be moving very much - porbably about 2mm in and out. Is this normal and enough to ooperate the pump lever?

I've measured the pushrod and ours is 13.5mm...

Cheers,

Chris

Cheers thanks for looking... :ok

Seems a strange length though...? Does anyone know definitively - is it a VW manual somwhere?

Presume it wouldn't be too big a job / espensive to get one of these made up?

Thanks again

probably should be, 140mm or 14cm, mine as probably got a 1mm of wear. Offered up to another just now and they are the same length both from 2ltr CU. Hope this helps, looking for my manual coz it's doing me head in Now LOL. I've got one if you want it. Give us a call on 07862749466
