Post by skint-van-man »

When timing a 1.9wbx DG code engine does the vaccum hose to the dizzy need to be disconnected and blanked??
Mr Haynes says it does but ive been reading some stuff on here and im not totally sure.

what he said - as you are only setting timing at idle. I know it costs, but a dyno tune type tune up will pay for itself in time. Whilst you are at it, check that the vacuum advance unit is not faulty, by sucking the tube, you should here the internal diaphram 'click' and you shouldnt be able to continue sucking then....
