Ignition Timing

Post by Tug »

Hi,
I have been reading the various threads on the board ad to be honest it has got me thinking.....I recently checked the ignition timing on my bus (2.0 cu) and it was 2 degrees out so I have re set it to 7.5btdc and it runs great. Can someone advise that this is correct as im running an electronic ignition not points and condenser. The dizzy only has Vacum advance not both vacums like on the original dizzy. I have been running this for about 4 years....
The engine runs great...but I fear Heat problems if it is too far retarded....

:ok

Oh I have read the wiki...

Is it the correct CU dizzy? (see what part number is on the side)
But with vac dissconected and idle stabiliser bypassed (if fitted) 7.5 should be fine
