Wild camping or El Cheapo campsite Birmingham area

Post by Nicola&Tony »

Hi, we are off to Cornwall next weekend  and looking to break the journey somewhere around Birmingham. We want somewhere where we can get our heads down without being disturbed by wagons or boy racers, and without spending too much of our Bashtie funds, preferably just off the M42 or M5 Southbound. Anyone got any suggestions?

Thanx very muchly in advance, Nicola

I would offer that you stay outside my house, but you would be on the road and we do get a few chav racers.

The nearest campsite is Chapel Lane which a few minutes off J3 of the M42.

Oh dear!! My reply above was to Jimbo, not Mrs CC. It looks like I'm saying that your house is frequented by many truckers Mrs CC. Sorry

Thanks for all your offers of accommodation and / or driveways, it's really great of you all, but I'm not wanting to deviate too far from our planned route. I want to get to Cornwall asap, I've never been before and I'm reet excited

I'll have a look at The Chapel House Campsite Louey, cheers,

Nicola

Truck stop at J5 of the M5
or if you head into Bromsgrove near Morrisons, the trucks park up on the industrial estate for free
Plenty of space to park up and only about 5 mins from J4 or J5 of the M5 or 5 mins from J1 M42

Here is Morrisons address for you to look up on google maps

Bruntsford, Park Road, Bromsgrove, B60 3DX

Not sure if it's el cheapo but there is a campsite near Lea Marston golf course about 5 mins off the M42

Also tameview campsite in kingsbury which is reviewed to be cheap and basic yet lovely... No website but might be worth a phonecall

Heather said you could try J4 M42!! there is a huge 24 hour tesco where I've seen Motorhomes parked up. The car park is big enough to find somewhere quiet out out of the way. It has loos, a petrol station and cafe, and a McDonalds next door (only for breakfasts though) - of course theres nothing better than camper brekkies 8)

and it is 30 secs off the junction :ok
