Should of gone for a Cosworth conversion. Mmmmmmmm, no probs getting past 50.

Like said there are a number of options that could set your top speed at 50, but most of them should be able to be sorted.

Drain on the pocket, welcome to life with a T25. LOL.

If your 'positive' ? about the revs your doing then it is irrelevant what may be wrong with the engine , it could have 2 pistons missing it changes nothing, 4Krpm =50 mph = wrong gearing
mike (and yep they can drain a pocket) :ok

WHS ^^^

Sounds like either a gearing issue or the rev counter is reading incorrectly, and the engine isnt reving out, surely these things should rev to 5000 rpm? if its the latter then yep correct setting up of the engine will sort this out, It wouldnt be a surprise if something is funder mentally wrong, wrong distributor, timming way to retarded, carbs etc etc, wrong firing order?? Did you bolt the engine together yourself? My 19 DG High top will do an indicated 85 with a long enough run up!

Good luck sorting it quickly and cheaply!
