While the topic of wading is on the board is there anyone with a subaru engine who's tested their wade depth? Any issues with camsensor causing engine stall when wet because it's located pretty low in the engine bay.

Anyone know if this is a diesel syncro doing this very deep crossing. Sounds like it to me but unsure

Gordon was not afraid of anything, great character and a real syncronaut, well missed.

I dug out the two handbooks again, one in German (page 143) and one in English (page 143) and VW give the following data ...

Wading Depth Syncro 14"
Petrol 350mm (185/14 tyres. for 205/14 tyres add 14mm)
TD 200mm (185/14 tyres. for 205/14 tyres add 14mm)

Wading Depth Syncro 16"
Petrol 500mm (195/16 tyres. for 205/16 tyres add 8mm)
TD 390mm (195/16 tyres. for 205/16 tyres add 8mm)

It does not mention anything about bow waves so I would tentatively suggest that these figures were taken while the vehicle was at a standstill

And then, when you (or in my case the army) specced the "Schlechtwegepaket" it says "increased wading capability" but fails to ad any actual figures
