Dash removal pics

Post by fairwynds »

Following the recent dash removal threads, and the excellent link on the WIKI, Ive been taking my dashboard out, to:
A) Repare/replace heater blower (usual syptoms, started to squeak a year ago, then seized, thereby blowing fuse each time it was switched on. Not good as fuse also covers the windscreen wipers. May put both on separate fuses now)
B) Replace broken heater wire
C) Tidy up old wiring, unused stereo cables, brittle/corroded spade connectors etc.
D) General clean and tidy up, including earth 'crowns'

So far so good, job has been quite straightforward (famous last words!)

I hope these pictures might assist others too. I was a tad anxious about the job beforehand, but seems ok now...

I did these via photobucket, but sorry they are small, am a bit of a novice with this!

Question - what is the little screw visible in the side of the (zig system?) relay?

Hope some of the pics useful, am now off to do some spring cleaning of wiring!

This looks like a flasher relay.....has it got 3 pins? the screw likely alters flash frequency...

Shame the pictures aren't bigger mate....

Could I post a link to Photobucket? They are in an 'album' there, or does that mean viewers will get access to others too, hols, work etc?

I don't think that would help much if the sizes of the images you uploaded were too small.
And we would see all your ather pics as well.

You need to have a play with different file sizes, resolution etc to see if you can get those images displaying bigger.

Cheers. When I look at them on my computer, as taken of the SD card from camera, they are all full size/screen. yet when I hit the 'bulk load' biutton on Photobucket, and then clicked each one to go onto 80-90, they have all ended up weenie! Will have a fiddle later... ooh errr!
