Devon poptop sliding bed boards

Post by ambivert »

Was someone asking on here a while back about how & where the sliding bed boards fit into the Devon roof?
If so, I now have some photos which should explain how it all works, but I won't upload them unless you want them... So does anyone want them?

yes please, I just have an empty space in my roof and am considering how to fit it out. Any inspiration would be welcome.

OK, so to put things into context...
Image

With all boards removed, view from outside looking forward, note beam going across, is above rear seats...
Image

With all boards removed, view from in the roof looking forward, see there is a bit of roof still over the cab...
Image

With all boards removed, view from front looking backwards, see that beam above the rear seats again...
Image

Close up of one of the channels...
Image

With 1 board in the front, view from back, looking forwards...
Image

With 1 board in the back, view from front, looking backwards...
Image

With 2 boards in the front, view from back/top looking forwards/down, catch bar is usually poppered on...
Image

With 2 boards in the front, view from back/down looking forwards/up...

HTH, let me know if you need more details on anything...

Thank you v. much. About to start making my own frame for my demon roof (fiberglass bed base thing that goes on the tin roof) so this was useful to see the framing close up.

Thanks again, David
