Overhead lockers/storage Autohomes conversion

Post by Spoon »

Hello,

We've just bought our first ever van a T25 High top Autohomes conversion 1984, but it doesn't have the overhead compartments found on some of them so you can see the old roof where the bottom of shelf should be. So, I was planning on lining the base of the old roof with wood and attempting to construct some sort of cupboard in the front compartment. Has anyone done this? Is there any advice you could give me? I don't want to go and do something stupid that will prevent me from selling it on in a couple of years!

For the back shelf we were just planning, to glue a lightweight base on the original roof, line it with carpet, and attach a net or ladder across the front - again any advice would be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
Yours naively,

Spoon!

Take a picyy and post it, interested to see how yours is different. Might even have had the high top fitted afterwards as Autohomes offered Hi top conversions to vans that were not converted by them or may have been fitted in place of an elevating pop top.....curious!
