brake pads backing coming off............

my front brakes squeeked so toiok them off for a clean re copper grease but noticed on the rear of the pads the rubber type plastic coating had worn off so it was down to bare metal?

is there anythign i can use other than the short lasting copper grease or if needby what pads are decent to use that wont do this?

There is an anti squeal compound avail from motor factors etc. that can be applied directly to back of brake pads. You leave it for a while until it sets then reassemble. It worked for quite a while on mine but it will still wear through eventually.

This stuff is more like a rubber. You apply it and wait for it to go hard. Red colour if that helps but can't remember the name! Doh!
