£1100 for eber...I'm in the wrong job..

Post by cakemaker »

Hi All,

I've been quoted an eye-watering £1100  to supply and fit an eber D2 Airtronic to my Autohomes Kamper.

Obviously, that's not an option...

Seen them on the bay of fleas, but confused...the small ones only come in diesal and mine's a petrol engine. Something about needing an extra tank fitting.

My question is: if I can get one for a half-way reasonable price on ebay, will it be tricky to fit ie.can I get a local mechanic to do the job (no way will I be fitting it myself!)

Thanks,
Amanda

Read this link, buy a s/h diesel Eber in July/August or have a Propex fitted by Gasure for WAY less than that.

Why does everyone only consider Eberspacher?
lookie here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... SS:GB:1123 you should get this for £400-450. if you want diesel, a small outboard engine fuel tank does for separate tank (another £20).

I'd prefer an webasto/eber, just doesn't seem worth it whilst having a petrol engine

They both do make petrol models also - they have the suffix b for benzine instead of the d for diesel.
A small fuel can can be sited in many places if you need to use a different fuel.

I shall begin touring the scrappies, are they cheaper to run than a propex? can you plumb one in to give you hot water? cuz that would defenitley make me swap over.
Seems worthwile getting them from scrappies and selling them on ebay

You will be needing a bbw or dbw or thermotop.
