Getting the top off a Westy water tank?

Post by Mr Soft »

Does anyone know how the top hatch comes off a Westy fresh water tank? I have tried to unscrew it by hand, but is very tight. Tried to tap it off but it won't budge & it won't pull off either!
Want to get in to clean it properly.

Ta!

If it's refusing to budge, you could try one of those chain-style oil filter tools on it.

Thanks all, its surprising what the wife's travel hair dryer can be used for, especially when she keeps it in the van!!

Heated the cap for about 4 minutes, allowed to cool for about 1 minute, pulled a face & grunted a little. Hey presto one free cap

Thanks again
