what headlight bulbs do i need

Post by karl40 »

Hello all, i have just brought new bulbs for the van and they don't fit!! I got H4 bulbs and the seating in the headlamps is wrong and the new bulbs fail on the back of the lens. The van is a 1983 1.9 WBX, is there some type of conversion kit so i can fit H4 super bright bulbs?

Sounds like you have the early Tungsten 410 (round fitting) these can be replaced with a superior Halogen 'hybrid' which has a 410 base but with the twin filiment H4 head.

Whilst this will improve your lighting I would be on the lookout for a pair of round H4's Headlamps (H4 is stamped on the lens) as these will perform even better.

Halfwits sell them (but watch their prices!) if you want to get them off the shelf ... I think they're just labelled up as a "12"
