Depends on who did the original conversion and what methods they used when wiring up the 1Y to accomodate the 1.6D loom. but it should be in the same location as the 1.6d/td. I think the colour code of the wire is Red/Yell (2 wires to 1) spade connector to the large main coolant pipe housing outlet on the block leading to the expansion tank, or (known as top hose) Temp sender is inside the housing unit, CS. & JX are Alloy cast housing unit, 1Y 1.9d. was from Seat-Golf Mk3 all there coolant housings are made of plastic, But are all in the same place.-------- :ok

Thanks for letting me know how you got on, I am not really familiar with the CS wiring setup but it is the same as the JX. the extra wire (blue/white)I think going to the coolant housing on my 1Y 1.9D setup is the JX engine bay wiring loom it is to accomodate the Auxillary water pump when you switch off ignition, as with or when I was running a Turbo the principal of it is to keep the cylinder head from overheating (Warping / cracking. as the Turbo engine runs a lot hotter. I dont run a Turbo now, as its the same engine you have 1Y,1.9D,NA, But I have retained the Auxillary water pump as my pipe work is slightly different to the CS, I have the CS/JX Bits fitted to my engine block, (thats what make it work) Its an Alternative Engine) Not a replacement if you know what I mean.
If you remember I spoke to you briefly at the DemonDubs swap meet at the end of last year, ----------------- :ok
