So, just to clear this up.

Are people going to be using the standard UK25 channel we normally use? Or changing to some fangled EU channel?

( i only ask as i think my unit only has the 40 UK channels.....)

since none of us are legal in europe on cb I'd say stick to uk frequency and be prepared to move if necessary, in France uk25 was quiet apart from some scally with a big fo aerial

Perfectly legal to use EU band in europe - thats what multiband sets are for! They genrally don't licance CBs in europe which is the main catalist licances were finally dropped for the UK around 2004.

Some say multiband sets are ilegal as they sometimes have access to ilegal bands (one of my sets does every band used in the EU) but if they were that ilegal why is it CE marked and conspicuously avalable for sale across the EU? Get cought deliberately tuned into the wrong band (hard to prove unless your cought transmitting) and you might get in trouble but again the chances are slim.

The set in my syncro has a 'duel watch' feature so maybe I'll tune into both EU and UK versions of 25. Might take a spare areal and mag mount too as unless fiddleing with the mirror mount and cutting out any corossion from the end of the wire sorts it out, I won't be picking up very much at all on it. Forgot to do it tonight so maybe its a task for the ferry que after I've taped up the headlights - only 26 hours to go!
